How to choose a wedding ring

Wedding bands are a symbol of devotion and a daily reminder of the one you love. It’s going to be on your finger for a long time, so choosing your perfect wedding ring requires some planning and this can feel a little overwhelming.

Whether you want a traditional band or something more unique, before you say “I do,” follow our top tips to choose the perfect style for you.

Sit down together and decide how much you would like to spend. We have wedding rings to suit every budget.

2. Get your ring size right

Find your forever fit from the comfort of your own home with our UK Ring Sizer. For more tips on getting the right size, read our Ring Size Guide.

3. Choose a style you’ll love forever

From traditional bands to shaped rings, use our guide to help you find a ring you’ll cherish forever.

Simple Wedding Bands

Loved for their simplicity, choose a smooth polished finish or a light hammered finish for your simple band wedding ring.

Choose from our court, D-shape (half-round) and flat wedding bands in sterling silver, gold vermeil and solid 9ct or 18ct gold.

Shaped Wedding Rings

Shaped wedding bands are perfect if you have an engagement ring that needs a curved wedding ring to fit around it.

Choose our traditional Wishbone Ring or a bespoke design such as a delicate curve or a cut-out in the ring.

All of our wedding bands can be made in different widths, thicknesses and metals. Please contact us with details of your request and we’ll be pleased to provide you with a quote.

4. Type of metal

There are numerous metals available, all with different properties that make some more suitable than others. Our wedding rings are available in sterling silver, gold vermeil or solid 9ct or 18ct yellow gold to suit a range of budgets and styles.

Wedding bands are traditionally crafted in solid gold with 18ct most commonly used for its durability and higher standard of purity and hardness.

We do recommend choosing the same metal as your engagement ring to help avoid any tarnish, so it’s important to keep this in mind.

5. Matching wedding bands

Do you want your partner’s wedding bands to match yours – or do you both want to choose different styles personal to you? Do you want your wedding band to match your engagement ring?

This decision is entirely personal. We understand that wedding rings are the most special and symbolic piece of jewellery you may ever buy, so we want to help you get it right.
