Earth Day: Our Commitment To Our Planet

Every year on 22nd April, Earth Day is celebrated by billions worldwide as part of a global environmental movement. Sustainability is becoming more important and with consumers embracing slow fashion, there is an increasing demand for more transparency into manufacturing processes and supply chains.

At Becky’s Jewellery Boutique, we have a commitment to the environment and how we interact with it. We are always mindful of long-term environmental sustainability and ethical business practices, ensuring our impact on the environment is positive and at the core of our strategy.

Here’s how we’re striving to be as ethically, socially and environmentally responsible as we can and create positive change – for us, for you and for the planet.

Master Craftsmanship

All our pieces are designed and handmade in-house using traditional metalsmithing techniques. We also carefully handpick our partners for their highly skilled craftmanship and work closely with them to maintain and develop creative and sustainable processes.

Responsible Production

Responsible Production

Every piece of jewellery is handmade to order just for you so that we only use precious metals and resources with a clear purpose. Where possible, we also reuse and recycle any scrap metal and resources to help reduce waste and minimise our carbon footprint and environmental impact.

Sourcing

We are extremely diligent about choosing suppliers and partners who align with our values. When it comes to silver and gold, we are always exploring new and responsible ways to source these precious metals - which includes sourcing them from suppliers certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council. For example, our 9ct Gold Stacking Ring is made from 100% recycled gold which has none of the associated human or environmental problems that can sometimes be associated with mining.

Packaging

We have been working hard to introduce recyclable packaging to safely deliver your pieces in. Currently our jewellery boxes, mailbags and mailing boxes, and plastic pouches are 100% recyclable and/or biodegradable. You can make our jewellery boxes and suede pouches more sustainable by reusing them to store trinkets in or as desk and drawer tidies.
